We rose from our beds around 4am on Wednesday morning to make our flight from Chiang Mai to Krabi island. It was a quick Air Asia flight (yes, we clapped upon landing) and a short bus ride to catch our ferry to Ko Lanta.
We rode the Andaman sea for nearly 3 hours before we touched the coast of Koh Lanta – the crisp blue green water and deep green trees calling our name(s).
Our hotel rooms at Moon Lanta resort were waiting for us; we dressed hurriedly and took off for the beach.
It was a short walk to the sand and sea, where we found a few open lounge chairs decorated with an umbrella for shade. There we sipped on tall-boy Leo’s and took turns swimming in the ocean. We watched a stunning sunset, before heading home to shower.
A local restaurant around the corner from our hotel is where we settled for dinner, and man was it a great choice!
We ordered a massive heap of food to share – Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, Fried Vegetables and Chicken Panang – coupled with white rice and Chang beers. Our bellies were full and our hearts were happy, and we settled into our mosquito net covered beds for a good nights rest.
A full day of beach bumming at “Relax Bay” was in store next….
