Lake Como is absolutely massive. There are miles of gorgeous waterfront villas, views for days and luxurious bars, restaurants and hotels lining its shores.
We spent our last day on the lake, hopping from village to village, hiking our way through the towns stone streets and tasting their local fare.
We moved from Como > Cernobbio > Moltrasio > Torno > Como. The sun was out in full force (yet again) and we basked in its warm rays as we cruised from town to town. We had coffees and pastries at the adorable (and delish!) Pasticceria Poletti in Cernobbio and visited the local church, Maria delle Grazie, where we lit a Christmas candle for our families. We hiked the quaint streets of Moltrasio and explored the backroads of Torno before stopping for Aperol Sprtiz’s at Hotel Belvedere overlooking the water. It was a beautiful day filled with lots of laughs and memories.
Back on Como, we headed straight for the funicolare – the gondola – which overlooks all of Como. We made it to the top just in time to watch the sun set from above. The hues of yellow, orange, red and pink were stunning. We snapped some pictures and then headed for another round of aperitifs at Alberto Bellavista in the tip-top-town of Brunate.
It was a beautiful day spent on the waters of Italy. We ended with dinner in town at a lakeside restaurant, L’antica Riva, and then continued our Farkle competition back at home.
It was early to bed – as the next morning we were heading to the Italian Alps—The Dolomites.
Another fabulous review (by Maggie) that has us all wanting to book our next vacation following in your footsteps.
My sentiments exactly – I agree with Denie – love Dad!
Next time I read a blog, Hopefully it wont fail me as much as this one. After all, I know it was my choice to read through, but I genuinely thought you would have something useful to say. All I hear is a bunch of moaning about something that you can fix if you were not too busy seeking attention.
