Two for Takeoff

Good morning friends and family. We are officially 14 days away from our round-the-world (RTW) trip, which means it’s the perfect time to introduce you to our blog. WELCOME! While blogging may prove to be a challenge for us as we navigate city after city in relatively short order, we wanted to be sure that each of you had the opportunity to follow us along the way. We’ll plan to share pictures and stories of the crazy things we do and see, the wonderful and interesting people we hope to meet, and the epic “fails” that are sure to ensue.

Right now our biggest concerns include our Vietnamese visas (which should be ready for pick-up any day now) and our packing gear. Deciding on a functional wardrobe for 20 days, six countries and various climates is not as simple as it seems. Who knew? Thankfully we’ve had some amazing friends share their input, experiences and personal recommendations. We decided this week to “pull the plug” and purchase the Osprey Porter travel pack. The Osprey is light weight, compact and durable. We are hopeful that it will allow us to be nimble and quick as we jump from plane to plane, city to city (fingers crossed that there’s room for one extra pair of shoes too). If Maggie can successfully pack in this thing for 20 days, it will be a miracle. Her trophy will come in the form of wine and European chocolates.

Once the packs are in and we have them locked and loaded, we’ll be sure to share tips, tricks and a few pics on how we’re squeezing it all in.

Stay tuned! And wish us luck!
